West Virginia vs. Extractive Industry

Doug Van Gundy has been an elephant keeper, a copywriter, a country radio disk jockey, a letterpress operator, an old-time fiddler, and a television game show winner. He holds an MFA from Goddard College and currently teaches English at the Caperton Center of Fairmont State University in Clarksburg, West Virginia. His poems and essays have appeared in such journals as Ecotone, The Lullwater Review, The Fretboard Journal and Kestrel, and his first book of poems, A Life Above Water, was published in 2007 by Red Hen Press.
